Become a part of Park City's mountain culture- past and present!- at Casa Blu.

After a bit of digging at the Park City Historical Society, we've determined that Casa Blu served as the home of either or General or a founding miner- or, on the more scandalous end, as a home base for "ladies of the night"- during the silver boom that changed Park City forever.

In 1898, Casa Blu stayed standing even as many of its neighbors went up in flames in a deadly fire.

Now, Casa Blu has been given a third life as an utterly unique vacation cottage that puts you just minutes from every activity on your Park City vacation agenda.

PCMR's Town Ski Lift and lockers are three blocks away. Historic Main attractions (shops, restaurants and galleries) begin just feet from your front door. And Park City's shuttle means the rest of the area's attractions are minutes away, too.

Inside, we've hung old photographs of the cottage and Park City in their past lives, and incorporated antique details like the mirror in the bathroom, which is made from a recycled, 100-year-old tin ceiling.

Of course, we've also outfitted Casa Blu to suit the needs of a modern vacationer. A fully equipped kitchen provides a user-friendly space to cook a meal. A washer and dryer in the cottage are perfect for soggy ski clothes. And entertainment options like high-speed Internet and flat-screen TVs mean you can cozy up with a good movie in the land of good movies (Sundance, of course). There's even an electronic fireplace to take the cozy factor up another notch!

In a house this compact, every detail counts. The quirky and modern design scheme is carried throughout, and the open floorplan and big windows flood the space with natural light.

Casa Blu is not huge, with only 500 square feet, but this adorable cottage has room for two bedrooms, and sleeps 5 guests (or 4 adults maximum, if no children).

One bedroom provides a queen-sized bed wrapped in bright linens and luxury sheets. The other is great for kids, thanks to its bunk bed system with a twin on top and full bed on the bottom.

Its cozy front porch faces a park area that's great for dogs (Casa Blu welcomes dogs!) and kids.

Altogether, you won't find another home in Park City like this one. Come and see our Park City gem for yourself! We look forward to sharing this charming piece of history with you.

    • Everything was wonderful

Husband and I stayed here for 3 nights on our ski vacation to Park City. Kris always responded to our questions leading up to our trip and even while we were there (p.s. the extra toilet paper is stored above the dryer!). The house is ADORABLE. The decor is so quaint and we appreciated all of the small touches throughout the house that really made it charming. The house was perfect for the 2 of us. We stored our luggage in the 2nd bedroom and essentially used it as our closet, which worked out well. The location was fantastic and we enjoyed walking into town for dinner and browsing the shops. FYI breakfast places don't open til 8am! If you can, get to the High West Distillery before 5pm and put your name in. Best dinner hands down. The walk to the slopes (the Town lift) was not horrible (but not close). We found out that for $3 you can store your skis at the town lift shop so that we didn't have to lug them back to the house! Perfection. We really enjoyed our stay and were tickled that we had such a great little house to come home to every night. Thank you Kris!!

    • Lovely, lovely, lovely!

Pleasantly surprised by the proximity to all of the action, while being just far enough to feel private. Nice touches included Park City history books, a few local beers in the fridge and some artisan chips in the cupboard. Add that to the thoughtful, accommodating attitude of the owner and it adds up to us coming back again - for sure!

    • Hidden Gem on Main Street!

It was a pleasure renting from Kris! Her cottage, Casa Blu, was simply fabulous. It is adorable, VERY clean and a treat to have called home for a week. It's not a huge property (which we didn't want anyway) but was designed well and fit our group of 4 perfectly (2 couples). She also really thought through the details- coffee/hot cocoa selection in the cabinet, leaving a local beer selection in the fridge for us (she remembered our love of beer from an email exchange!) and many more small, but not forgotten, details. I wasn't sure about the location before arriving, but it was perfect! We parked our car and were able to walk everywhere. Thank you for the amazing trip, we will return!

    • Love this place!

Casa Blue is an amazing vacation rental and Kris is a great person to rent from. We loved everything about this quaint abode. She did a GREAT job with the recent renovations. It's small but a fantastic use of space. Perfect for people with dogs (there's a great park across the street). We loved everything - the comfy beds with cozy sheets, great kitchen with everything you need, washer and dryer come in handy when you're doing a lot of skiing. She has everything from boot warmers to dog toys. The location is amazing - you can walk to everything in town including the lift to Park City Ski Area. Thanks again for a fantastic holiday in Park City.

    • Great Snow & Home

We had a great stay at Kris's place in Park City. The place is cozy and well-appointed with nice finishes. The kitchen was great with all the appliances, pots, pans, and utensils you'd need. 1 flat screen TV in the living room and in each bedroom and a wide channel selection. Kris was very easy to communicate with and was generously accommodating in letting us stay past the normal checkout time since there wasn't anyone staying Sunday night, which was great since we went skiing in the morning and needed a place to wash up before heading to the airport. All in all it worked out well. And we got great snow conditions in April to boot!

    • Great Location!

Really nice cozy spot on Main Street. My fiancée, our dog, and two friends stayed at Casa Blu for our ski trip and had a blast. Easy walk to lots of bars, restaurants, and the Town Lift at Park City. This is a particularly good UT ski trip home base if you're bringing a dog since pets aren't allowed in Cottonwood Canyon and it's so centrally located to lots of fun stuff. The home was really well decorated, not oversold at all by the great pics -- and stocked with coffee, a 12-pack of local beer, cable/ondemand TV, and dog bowls/blanket.Kris was great, very accommodating, and I'd definitely rent from her again.
